Today is National Cinnamon Bun Day! If you're posting on social media, be sure to tag #CinnamonBunDay.
Recipes are king when it comes to cinnamon roll questions, and unlike most of these featured foods where the first question is the recipe and the second question is storing leftovers.....it seems that no one has leftover problems when it comes to cinnamon rolls. Go figure.
Tips & Tricks: Slicing

Cutting the buns without squashing them flat can be a tricky part of the cinnamon roll making process. Two popular options are dental floss (unflavored!) or a serrated bread knife.
To get even slices, measuring with a ruler or gridded pastry mat can be helpful, but there is a simple trick to eyeballing perfect slices without a measuring device in sight.
It's easier to get uniform thickness rolls when you start cutting from the middle of the log, estimating the first cut at ½ or ⅓ of total length, and then approximating halves or thirds from there. Slices will be much more uniform than starting at one end and working down the log. Plus, you don't have to keep track of fractions. Bonus!

If you want to share a recipe, you can't go wrong with Ambitious Kitchen's "The Best Cinnamon Rolls You'll Ever Eat". There are very detailed instructions, including yeast types and the temperature of the ingredients.
Fun fact: When cinnamon is incorporated into a yeast dough it can strongly inhibit the rise! This is why yeasted doughs call for a swirl of cinnamon sugar rather than blending the spice in with the dry ingredients.
